Kevin Youngs, owner and lead therapist, has provided physical therapy services for East Carolina University athletes since 2004. Youngs Physical Therapy and Sports Performance has been the Official Physical Therapy Provider for ECU Athletics since 2022!

MANUAL THERAPY.

Manual therapy is a hands on treatment used to facilitate movements that your body otherwise could not perform. The goal behind any manual therapy treatment is to mobilize soft tissue (muscle, fascia or tendons) and joints which can be performed in several different ways. All forms of soft tissue mobilization are superficial (above the skin) with the exception of dry needling (direct to the muscle).

Custom Foot Orthotics.

Custom foot orthotics are supportive devices that are worn in your shoes and position your foot in proper alignment. They are prescribed to decrease the frequency of movement-related injuries, align the skeleton properly, provide improved cushioning, and/or improve comfort.

Pilates Based Physical Therapy.

Pilates Based Physical Therapy is a holistic, patient centered approach to healing the physical body following an injury or surgery. Pilates Based Physical Therapy uses traditional Physical Therapy interventions as well as the Pilates system to address a person’s individual physical limitations. Physical Therapy for Golfers.

Do you have pain with playing golf, feel restricted or limited in your swing, or want to get back to the course following an injury? Allow a TPI certified physical therapist to evaluate you and analyze your swing from a movement, biomechanical and impairment-based standpoint to uncover any faulty movement patterns that are predisposing you to pain.
